There have been many amusing moments while I’ve been commuting, including seeing vehicles such as the mystery machine, Ghostbusters car and also Del Boys three wheeler. The weirdest thing I have witnessed however would be: While travelling behind a van both the doors swung open, whilst moving, a person then threw some objects out of the van, which made me swerve to miss them, then shut the doors again before accelerating off as fast as possible. This made me both laugh and bemused by what just happened
I have experienced public transport for many years, commuting back and forth from college and work, on buses and also on trains. I have found that both forms of public transport are slow, dirty and are quite often hit by strikes and/or delayed. Some of the things I have witnessed, whilst travelling on public transport, are the defining reasons why I would choose a car over it any day. There have been many counts of unsociable behavior including spitting and being verbally abused. The car may be more expensive to run and upkeep but traveling is easier as you can avoid traffic hot spots, I also feel a lot safer being in my own shell with no distractions.
Commuting makes my social life a hell of a lot easier, as I own my own car it makes seeing friends easier and also allowing more outings with them to different places. Being part of a large following for the VW Golf as well it has made my social life more exciting by allowing me to get into different crowds and travel with them.
